The Tyrol-Allgäu Way of St James This Alpine Route of St. James, which is both scenically and culturally very attractive, leads off the main roads over three Alpine passes, namely the Fernpass, the old Gaichtpass and the Jochpass. It crosses some of the most attractive hiking and holiday regions of Tyrol and southern Upper Allgäu on ancient Roman, trade and pilgrim paths.

In stages, the classic route leads over 153 km in about 7 days through the entire Pinzgau region to the Marien pilgrimage places from Jochbergwald to the pilgrimage place Maria Kirchental.

Von der idyllischen Wallfahrtskirche in Jochbergwald führt ein Waldpfad auf den Pass Thurn mit dem „Wasenmoos“ und über den Mittersiller Sonnberg zum Schloss Mittersill und ins Stadtzentrum mit der Pfarrkirche St. Leonhard (12 km).

Auf der Wanderung durch das Leoganger Tal (14 km) begegnen Sie der alten (Bergbaumuseum Hütten mit seiner bekannten Gotiksammlung) und neuen (Magnesitbergbau Hochfilzen) Bergbautradition sowie am Grießensee vorbei.

Auf den Etappen 01 bis 14 führt Sie der klassische Weg über 135 km in ca. 7 Tagen durch den ganzen Pinzgau zu den Marienwallfahrtsorten Jochbergwald, Maria am Stein (Stuhlfelden), Maria auf dem Eis (Bruck), Maria Elend (Embach) und Maria Alm bis zum bedeutendsten Wallfahrtsort Maria Kirchental.
