Boulderen is synoniem met Fontainebleau. Het mooiste en grootste bouldergebied ter wereld ligt op nog geen 5 uur rijden van Nederland in de bossen rond de plaats Fontainebleau, circa 70 km ten zuidoosten van Parijs.

- Expositie: alle exposities.
- Beste jaargetijde: het gehele jaar. De beste condities zijn er met koel en droog weer. Een lage luchtvochtigheid is essentieel.
- Vrij toegankelijk. Hou echter rekening met tijdelijke sluitingen agv jacht. Sommige sectoren zijn permanent gesloten omdat ze gelegen zijn op prive-terrein of in zones die zijn aangemerkt als Réserve biologique intégrale.
