Heart-trail San Gian - Golfplatz
For all those winter sports enthusiasts who want to do something for their heart health, the Engadin has six specially awarded "heart trails".
The heart trails, in the middle of the sun-drenched valley plain of Celerina, circles the church of San Gian with its striking two towers and lead in a wide arc past the Samedan golf course.
This short circuit is prepared for classic cross-country skiing as well as for skating and has no gradients, which makes it ideal for heart patients and for beginners.

Safety information
Before you start to go on the trail, we recommend
... to warm up well before you start. Especially in colder temperatures, your heart needs time to get going.
... to begin without hurrying. Take it easy and increase your speed only gradually.
... to not overspend yourself on cross-country skiing. Your breathing and pulse should only be moderately accelerated. If you are skiing with a partner, you should be able to talk to him or her easily (and not breathlessly) while skiing.
... to listen to your body well. Do you feel fit and healthy? Then have fun on the cross-country ski trail! Do you feel pain or pressure in your chest or are you experiencing difficulty breathing, dizziness, nausea or weakness? Then please dial the emergency number 144.
The Swiss Heart Foundation offers you comprehensive information on the prevention of heart disease and on education and research about heart disease:
