You can now find the Stage 11 stamp at the Volčan Bridge by the Soča River or at the TIC Tolmin .
The entire stage from Most na Soči runs along the walking path to Tolmin.
Tolmin is a nice town built on the terraces above the confluence of the rivers Soča and Tolminka. The area itself is quite popular among the residents and also a famous venue of international music festivals in summer. Tolmin is an old town with a castle on the picturesque Kozlov rob above the town. The town itself has been known since WWI as the start point of the famous Isonzo Front. After eleven bloody Italian offensives, the Austrian and German military forces broke through the front in the twelfth Isonzo battle and pushed the Italian army back to the Piave River.
Today, Tolmin is the administrative centre of the valley and a starting point for various activities for visitors.

Safety information
The entire section has phone reception. There are no specialities, caution is needed on 200-metre section along the regional road.
This is most probably the easiest stage of the trail.
If there is no snow, the stage is also recommended in winter.
Tips and hints
Hint by Triglav National Park: Limestone strata at Modrej
The Julian Alps are a treasure trove of geological phenomena. The predominating bedrock is limestone. Limestone is a sedimentary rock that formed on the sea floor. Certain types of limestone were typically found in this area and are therefore named after the places where they occur. Volče, a town near Most na Soči, lent its name to the slabs of limestone common in this part of the Julian Alps. The slabs are soft and brittle in structure, only 10cm thick and cross folded.
Clearly visible and easily accessible layers of Volče limestone, commonly known as the “limestone strata of Modrej”, can be admired near the village of Modrej, along the state road between Tolmin and Most na Soči, on the Juliana Trail. North of the village, across the road from the accumulation lake on the Soča River, at its narrowest end, is a set of folded limestone strata that is accessible through the protective Pod Ključem galleries.
The Modrej limestone is an exciting geological feature which remains hidden from visitors who are pacing through these parts but provides curious and observant hikers with joy, admiration and memorable experience. The diversity of geological phenomena in the Julian Alps area is exceptional and is the basis for the area’s equally stunning biodiversity.

Follow the cycling and hiking route along the left bank of the accumulation lake.
There is a walking path on lake shore in Most na Soči, follow it to Tolmin. Continue along the road after Modrejce village for about two hundred metres and at the gallery, we again come to the cycling and hiking trail which we can follow to Tolmin.
