This undemanding tour, which is friendly to average hikers, will take you through a nice beech forest to a meadow beneath the Kal Mountain pasture. The grassy trail is usually well maintained and will take you across the meadow on the left side of the Kal Mountain pasture to a sightseeing slope of Mt. Grušnica where you can enjoy in views of the entire Tolmin Basin. When the weather is clear, you can enjoy in views all the way to the Adriatic Sea. The last section of the trail is somewhat steeper.
You should return along the same trail. In front of the Kal Mountain pasture, you will come across a bench on the viewpoint where you can rest and enjoy in marvellous views towards Mt. Krn and its neighbouring mountains, summits from Mt. Vrh Škrli to Mt. Mahavšček and Mt. Bogatin, and towards the Tolminka Valley deep below.

The trail is safe. Certain sections of the trail are covered with a lot of fallen leaves during the autumn, which is why it requires caution.This is an easy hiking trail. Use of hiking trails is at your own risk!
Tips and hints
Instead of returning to Tolminske Ravne, you can turn at the marked junction on the Kal Mountain pasture and hike along the crossing trail beneath Mt. Tolminski Migovec. This trail will take you to the Razor Mountain pasture from where you can return along a marked trail back to your starting point.Start

From Tolmin: Cross the bridge across the Tolminka River and take the third turn on the roundabout. Continue along the road through Žabče all the way to Tolminske Ravne.From Most na Soči: Drive past the turn for Poljubinj, continue to the roundabout, take the turn for Žabče and continue to Tolminske Ravne.
