Hike with views across Krimml to the Seekarsee.
difficult
Distance 5.5 km
Setting out from Krimml, the path leads just a little above WasserWelten alongside the Blaubach and, just a little later, along the Gerlos Alpenstrasse. Now, you are faced with a steep hike up through the forest. The path takes you along the banks of the small Seebach, until the forest becomes sparser and you reach the Seekar Alm, a hut which does not serve refreshments. In this part of the tour, you are rewarded with great views of Krimml and the Salzach River Valley. The last stretch to Seekarsee takes you across a number of rock slabs shaped by glaciers. On hot days, the clear high-mountain lake invites you to enjoy a refreshing dip. Since there are no refreshment opportunities along this tour, be sure to bring along plenty to eat and drink.
Author’s recommendation
Don’t forget to come equipped with something to cover your head (hat, scarf etc.) as protection against the sun and heat, as well as drinks and a snack (no refreshment opportunities).
